Services for Official Court Reporters
Courtroom Connect provides Official Court Reporters with premium quality Internet access at the courthouse, and the infrastructure and support to deliver realtime transcripts over the Internet to interested parties. As Managing Reporter, I have been in contact with many reporters using Courtroom Connect, and the verdict rendered is they are 'fantastic.' The personnel we have worked with from Courtroom Connect are true professionals with great 'people skills' and always aim to please… As a result of their service, attorneys and litigants have repeatedly commented that San Francisco Superior Court is the forum to try their cases, as they feel our courtrooms are state of the art, especially when it comes to realtime hookups to all parties.

Courthouse Connect Wi-Fi Internet Service
Courtroom Connect installs permanent wireless networks in leading civil courthouses for use by attorneys, court reporters, jurors, and other members of the public. Our Courthouse Connect WiFi networks typically cover everywhere an official court reporter works, including court reporter offices, lounges and courtrooms. With Internet access from Courtroom Connect, court reporters can send and receive email, transfer office files, send realtime transcripts in the courtroom or to remote participants (with Judge approval), email files to a scopist for faster processing, and conduct research on the Web - all from their wireless enabled laptops anywhere in the courthouse. Speeds are up to 27 times faster than 56K dial-up, and phone lines are kept free for calls. Service is currently being provided in over 40 courthouses across the U.S. at prices generally below $20/month.
Custom Internet Service for Official Court Reporters
For courthouses where Courthouse Connect Wi-Fi service is not available, Courtroom Connect will work with officials to meet their Internet needs. Whether it's a line for a single user, or a complete network for all officials, Courtroom Connect is equipped to meet the Internet needs of official court reporters. Cost for service is determined based on the requirements of the project. If the Internet connection is also used for realtime transcript services and to provide Internet access to attorneys, Courtroom Connect will offer discounted court reporter subscriptions.
Realtime Transcript Services
In addition to Internet connectivity, Courtroom Connect works with court reporters at the courthouse to supplement their existing realtime capabilities. If Courtroom Connect does not provide permanent Internet access in the courthouse, a temporary connection can be provided for a single trial. Courtroom Connect's realtime transcript services rely on a cabled serial feed from the court reporter's CAT software to a small server that can re-transmit the feed over the Internet (or in some cases can be done directly from the CAT laptop). On-site users can receive the realtime transcript anywhere in the courthouse via the wireless network; and remote participants can receive a realtime transcript anywhere via the Internet (e.g. attorneys in the office and/or war room). In all cases, permission of the court reporter and trial Judge is required, and the court reporter must be compensated for all work product.
