Courtroom Connect Expands Internet Services in New
San Mateo County Courthouse

Internet, video conferencing, and video streaming services are now
available to trial teams in the complex litigation courtrooms.

(Atlanta, GA) May 4, 2006 - Courtroom Connect (CC), the leading national provider of advanced communication services to the legal industry, including video conferencing, video streaming, and Internet, announced today the expansion of their permanent Internet network in the San Mateo County Superior Courthouse.

The permanent Internet network provides the backbone for Courtroom Connect’s video streaming, video conferencing, wireless Internet, and realtime streaming applications provided to law firms during trials and hearings. Trial teams in war rooms or co-counsel in another state can watch the realtime text and video streaming of the proceedings taking place in San Mateo on their computers. Remote witnesses that can’t make it to trial can testify over videoconferencing. Attorneys at court can access their online repository for exhibits or send emails to trial teams using Courtroom Connect’s wireless Internet. These technologies have been used on trials such as Vioxx, Sempra Energy, and In Re Walt Disney Derivative Litigation.

In addition to the Hall of Justice and Records, Courtroom Connect’s technology will now be available in two courtrooms located in the central courthouse on Humboldt Avenue specifically designed for high technology cases and other complex lawsuits in San Mateo. Located within the high tech corridor of Silicon Valley, these courtrooms will focus on delivering the latest courtroom technologies for complex matters involving the high technology industry.

“San Mateo Superior Courthouse tries many cases involving high-tech matters. What better way to support the trial teams in these matters than using high-tech solutions,” commented Sumit Chatterjee, General Manager of Courtroom Connect. “Courtroom Connect is pleased to partner with San Mateo to deliver these technologies to its bar.”

San Mateo joins over 40 courthouses across the United States that have partnered with Courtroom Connect to install permanent Internet networks for its Bar to utilize.

“Through the partnership with Courtroom Connect, San Mateo has immediately enhanced its offering to the Bar, “said Tim Benton, IT Manager for San Mateo County Superior Court, "It shows the community how committed we are to provide the highest level of support and the best technology."
